Mary Whitten, DHSc, MOT, OTR, CHT
Mary Whitten, DHSc, MOT, OTR, CHT has worked as an occupational therapist at the VA hospital in Newington, CT for more than 14 years. She became a CHT in 2015 after completing the Advanced Practice Certificate in Hand and Upper Quarter Rehabilitation at Drexel University. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Bay Path University where she teaches content in adult physical disabilities, orthotic fabrication and application of evidence-based practice. She recently co-authored an article on the therapeutic management of posttraumatic elbow stiffness in the Journal of Hand Therapy a book chapter on therapist’s management of elbow fractures and dislocations published in the 7th edition of Rehabilitation of the Hand and Upper Extremity. She completed a Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc) in Rehabilitation Sciences with an emphasis in hand and upper quarter rehabilitation at Drexel University in 2020.
