Cynthia Watkins, PT, DPT, CHT

Cynthia Watkins PT, DPT, CHT currently works at the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute as the Manager of Ancillary Services where she also serves as the program director of the Rothman Hand Fellowship in conjunction with the Virtual Hand Fellowship.  Cynthia completed a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Pedagogy and Literature from the University of Tennessee in 1993, her Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University in 1998, and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Temple University in 2004. She .  Cynthia is an active public speaker and frequent lecturer at local universities in the athletic training and physical therapy departments. She was an invited speaker at the Wisconsin Hand Experience in 2018 on the topic of Therapist’s Management of Thumb Instability.  She also presented at the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT) annual meeting in 2018 and 2019.  Most recently, her team’s abstract was accepted by the European Federation of Societies for Hand Therapy (EFSHT) and she had the pleasure of travelling to Rimini, Italy with her colleague to present.   Throughout her career in hand therapy, she has authored several peer-reviewed journal and book publications.  Cynthia enjoys playing tennis, playing piano, and going to art museums with her husband in her spare time.
