Cindy Ivy, OTD, MEd, CHT
Cindy Ivy OTD, OTR/L, MEd, CHT, Clinical Professor, worked as an Occupational therapist at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and Arizona from 1984-2015 full time, and began working as adjunct faculty at Northern Arizona University (NAU), Phoenix Bioscience Core in 2014 and joined the faculty full time in August of 2015 as Associate Clinical Professor and Residency coordinator. She later became the Practice Scholar Apprenticeship Coordinator and achieved the rank of full clinical professor. Her research interests include the first CMC joint, CRPS, Stenosing Tenosynovitis/ trigger finger, fracture management, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease.
Dr. Ivy carries a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology from Northern Arizona University. Her post professional clinical doctorate in occupational therapy, hand therapy emphasis is from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.
Cindy Ivy has a passion for teaching and has taught in many capacities over the past 35 years while working as a hand therapist and occupational therapist. She has taught dissection based anatomy across several discipline programs at the Phoenix Bioscience Core, including NAU OTD, DPT and PA, and University of Arizona Medical School.
Cindy has published manuscripts in all categories of the research pyramid: systematic and scoping review, randomized controlled trial, case series, case report, single case study, mixed methods study, observation/ survey design, and general review.
